Captain Fred

Captain Fred (and his Yellow Submarine) started life as a commemorative medallion for a theme-park attraction based on the Beatles' animated film. (For more info see this MTV article. ) The attraction's run has ended, but Fred's journey has just begun! By the way, the Yellow Submarine attraction was installed in Berlin and Tokyo... in addition to Liverpool, Fred would happily revisit either of those cities if the opportunity arises. Of course he's up for any and all adventures along the way. Because really, all he needs is love.

I work in an outdoor gear store in Oakville, ON that sells Garmin products. Hiking Cockroachess came into the store today and after a bit of a chat about caching left me with this travelbug. (Love the Beatles BTW!) I'll make sure it gets into a cache in the area when I go caching on Wednesday!

Actually, I like Cayuga Crew's idea of taking this up towards TO, and since Cockroach is from Mississauga (practically next door to Toronto), it's an easy thing to do. Next stop...Toronto, Ontario! By the way, I LOVE the Yellow Submarine Album!

Picked Capt Fred up from the down by the river cache which I imagine could be a great place to watch submarine races. Well we have have no immediate plans to travel to Liverpool in the near future and truthfully we are not great fans of the Yellow Submarine Album anyhow. If this had been a White Album Rocky Raacoon Tb we probally would have been somewhere over the Atlantic by now helping get the tb to its desired destination. We'll keep it moving, maybe even get it into an Ontario Canada cache. Lots of people travelling to the UK via Toronto.

I'd like to see how!, after much searching for the long lost captain fred, the NYUMA1 Team finally located the travel bug! The funny thing was that it was right where we left it! UP THE CREEK!

After feeling guilty for loosing it in the firstplace, we went to retrieve it! Next stop, Buffalo, NY. We hope to send captain fred off in the next few days, after some tlc. i want to polish the sub before sending it off. So keep an eye out for it!
