Current Goal

At some point, this geocoin would like to travel to its home country, stopping in as many caches as possible and visiting with as many friendly Italians as it can :-) Until then, it just wants to travel the world, so please keep it moving! If you can post a photo of it on its journey, that would be great :-D Discoveries are always welcome.

The coin

How could we not want these? Galileo is an important figure in the development of modern astronomy, and Jim has been an amateur astronomer since his boyhood. And we visited Italia in the Fall of 2005 and had a wonderful time in Milano and Venezia :-D Just about everyone we met was friendly; even the kid who tried to pick Jim's pocket is a fun memory: he didn't succeed :-) So when the first Italian geocoin was announced, we made sure to get a couple!
