The adventure began on 6/27/04. My friend Karyn and I started out at Walmart buying a GPS. I had been Geocaching before but only as a passenger and had no clue how to use a GPS! But I was bound and determined to find 1 jeep travel bug! We spent 1 1/2 hrs just trying to find the road we needed to turn on, turns out it was at the 4 mile mark so we should have been there much sooner. Up the mountain we went, the bugs were horrible but we kept going. Trying for 3 hrs with 2 cell phone calls for assistance we gave up hungry tired and frustrated! Then on 6/28/04 after reading my GPS book and learning to set waypoints deceided to try it again! With A backpack water bugspray snacks cell phone and GPS,Karyn and I found the cache at 3:40 pm after about 30min of searching. When I screamed she thought I had fallen over the rocks. I was just thrilled to have found it!!! When you are new to this and are learning and your looking for a lone maple tree in the middle of the woods and GPS is brand new you look around every tree. We can laugh now turns out when we found it, it was about 50 feet below where we had quit the previous day! The mountain area view to big lake and pokey lake were beautiful! It was well worth the effort and now we are planning where we can leave the little yellow jeep for the next adventure lover to find!!!!

🙂 Being a fan and owning a '97 Jeep Wrangler, I was thrilled to help out with the placement of 5 Jeep TJ's in the Washington county area of Maine. 😁 I hope they travel far and wide, just as mine has taken me (175,000 miles)! Thanks to BRDAD for asking me to place these cool little TB's!! 😎 Aefuss - Eastport, ME
