About This Item

Butch II At Al Faw Palace, Baghdad, 2005

Butch III is the extension of Butch II: (aka: Humming Bird NM Event Bug, Use TBB910 to reference Butch II travel bug. or: (http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=47376).

I didn't bring a TB tag so I modified a coin; pictures of new "arrangement" later...

Butch III has a genuine Hummingbird banding by renowned birding expert, Joan Day-Martin (http://www.hbnm.org/about.htm)

Butch II is lost in Georgia.

Butch I was a genuine Hummer that befriended the magical Ms. Martin. Butch II and III were modeled on him.

Butch III was a gift to Greeny's Ghost at Hummer Dinner Celebration - 2nd Annual (GCNZ4A, New Mexico, in 2005)

((The original Greeny also went by 'Butch'))

So the wife says to me today "Why did you name that hummingbird "Buddy", his name was "Butch." Duh, I did know that. Must have been the god awful conditions of Iraq got me confused. I just finished fixing name references on the bug page. GG

Picked up the hummingbird and will get him to El Paso next weekend. Introduced some new geo cachers to this and one picked this one up. Told her that we would take it to El Paso so it can complete its mission!!!

He's back in New Mexico---and just the right season as well! This little guy flew in from Texas, last in the hands of JeepDog. However, he has come a long way to find his way back to NM. He was placed in Rio Ruidoso (GCQMOB) as this a very likely place to depart for his "last leg" home. Really loved this little guy, good luck, God speed! moonstar

Found this little humming bug flying around at the event. Cutest little thing I have seen in a while. Love the bug offered to take it to the wine festival in california this week but he had its mind set on New Mexico. Well he is in the best hands possible so have a great time little fellow
