(DEUTSCH: ) Im Jahr 1935 entsteht der erste Prototyp des VW-Käfers mit luftgekühltem Boxermotor, das ist jetzt 70 Jahre her, wenn das kein Anlass für einen TB ist.
Im Jahr 1978 läuft der letzte in Deutschland gebaute Käfer im Werk Emden vom Band. Insgesamt wurden 16.255.500 Käfer in Deutschland gebaut.
Im Jahre 2003 lief der letzte von Volkswagen gefertigte Käfer bei ’Volkswagen de Mexico’ in Puebla/Mexiko vom Band.

Den Travel Bug Käferauto habe ich 1969 als ich im Krankenhaus lag, geschenkt bekommen. Nach Jahren in einer Kiste ist er 2002 in den Besitz von meinem Sohn übergegangen. Jetzt möchten wir ihn auf vielen Bildern im Netz wiedersehen. Wie sein Original hat auch er schon eine recht lange bewegte Geschichte. Bitte gut auf ihn aufpassen.

(ENGLISH: ) In the year 1935 the first prototypes of the VW-bug have been produced. That jubilee is the reason for this TB ‘Käferauto’.
In the year 1978 the last VW-bug have been produced in Emden, Germany. Altogether 16.255.500 cars of that type have been produced in Germany.
In 2003 the history of the VW-bug production ended in Puebla/Mexico.

I got the TB Käferauto in the year 1969 while spending some time in a hospital. After years in a big box, my son got it in the year 2002. Now we both are looking forward to see pictures form him in many countries together with the original, if possible. Please keep your eyes on him.
