The Clarktrain

About This Item

Each year our family gets together on Thanksgiving to share love, thanks and hope. Each year we have a theme. This year it was Trains and Hobos. We learned much about the culture of the Hobo. There is much to be admired about the true Hobo culture; love, trust, sharing and a special sense of family.

Found this bug in "A Road Less Traveled" cache. Someone must have forgotten to log it when they took it from "Teddy's Place". On June 10 this bug will go on a trip and hopefully find another train!!!!

Traveled to the Sonoran Desert Museum outside of Tucson. Tried to get a picture of Clarktrain as a freight train passed by, but couldn't manage it. Hope someone picks the little guy for some more train adventures.

TEF passed it along at the CITO 2005 #5 event. On the way home, I stopped at the Scottsdale McCormick Ranch Railroad Park and took a couple of pictures. I'll be getting a couple more of a railroad park near my house. Then we'll see where this little guy will go.

    • Small meets Large Located in Scottsdale AZ, the park has 2 types of rideable trains, a model RR hobby shop and a model RR club on site.
    • Little one riding a fence rail Another view of the large engine.
    • Arizona Model RR Society I took the Clarktrain to a rec area near my house to get some pics. Since the place was closed for the evening, I got the picture through the fence.
    • Arizona Model RR Society 2 This railroad park is at 43rd Ave. & Pinnacle Peak in north Phoenix.
    • Best Hobo I could find This was the best I could do before I moved the Clarktrain on its way. This is a plate from the defunct Hobo Joe's restaurant from the 60's and early 70's. I got a couple at an antique shop a few years back. We had a Hobo Joe's (@ 20th St & Thomas) near the house I grew up in.

Even though this was a train located cache it would not hold a engine :(.

    • Near the cache site it is a small museum :)
