About This Item

G.O. Gnome getting ready for his journey

This woodland Gnome wants to keep on the move. As a larger than average travel bug, he'll need to stay at large caches or be hidden within 10 feet of a smaller cache.

Don't think he wouldn't have fit in our baggage going back to Salt Lake on a plane - but we sure had fun seeing him at the APE cache today. Hope somebody can move him on for you soon - until then, he's in a GREAT spot!!

Of all the things that I pulled out of the Ape cache today a gnome was not what I had expected to pull out. Thanks for turning this little guy loose in the world.

Dropped Off 6/24/2010 Kaching Karen placed it in Mission 9: Tunnel of Light Washington - 2,447.41 miles  Visit Log

Well, well, well, this guy is sitting in a very special place right now. He's in the "Mission 9: Tunnel of Light" cache which is a famous cache. He's traveled quite far to get here. My carry-on suit case was going through the airport scanner and they paused it for a bit. It was enough to make me nervous even though I had nothing to hide. Well, the security man looks at me and says, "It looks like a gnome!" I laughed and said, "It is a gnome!" Must have been one of the stranger things to go through the scanner.

  • Gnome at APE cache This guy is in a beautiful spot on the Iron Horse trail in Snoqualmie Trail in Washington. Best of luck to him!

OK, I'll fess up! I was sitting there, minding my own business, when someone dropped this guy in my lap and said "you win"!!! I was excited and claimed you prize before I realized that this was not the best choice for a bicyclist with 60 miles to go! I bungied him to the handle bars and noticed he was a bit crooked. As I straightened his head, he said "I'm too young to die..." Fortunately, gnomes loose their heads but don't die so easily. I felt so bad about breaking his neck that I sort of abandoned him at Kaching Karen's event since I knew she couldn't turn her back on a homeless, headless gnome.

Retrieve It from a Cache 5/2/2010 Kaching Karen retrieved it from 10 Years! Waterville, Maine (AM) Maine   Visit Log

I somehow got this guy from a person who retrieved it from the 10 Years event in Waterville. Well, he had a small mishap, but some crazy glue took care of him. He looks almost as good as new, but needs to be handled with TLC. People have this strange idea that I have to get him to Seattle. He will take up a lot of room in my suitcase if that's the "case." I'll see what I can do for this gnome.
