The Appalachian National Scenic Trail, generally known as the Appalachian Trail or simply The A.T., is a 2000+-mile (3,498-km) marked hiking trail in the eastern United States, extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. Along the way, the trail also passes through the states of North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. The path is maintained by thirty trail clubs and multiple partnerships. The Appalachian Trail is famous for its many hikers, many of whom attempt to hike it in its entirety, sometimes non-stop. Many books, memoirs, websites and other fan organizations are dedicated to this pursuit.

Found in a cache north of Fairlie, Canterbury, NZ. It had been dropped in the cache earlier in the day.
It has obviously got lost on its mission, but has certainly had a good trip!
