A True New England Patriot is on it's way to visit New Zealand, his owner can't get there right now so he's off to see what there is to be seen. His family of four boys would like to see the sights there so please take pictures of his travels in New Zealand.

I walked down to this cache site from the Honest Lawyer pub- the pub exists but I am not so sure about the Lawyer part.
Its a beaut winters day here, a group of school children were planting native trees around the edge of the estuary. Picked up this bug to further his adventures in NZ.

Dropped im off to "Mountain View" cache as asked.
Mount Owen is where two of the scenes from "the lord of the rings" were filmed.
The Scene in the fellowship of the ring where the black birds come, and the scene in the fellowship of the ring where they come out from the mines of Moria.
There were a couple of shots in the film of Mount Arthur where the Hobbits stopped for a meal.

Tonight I took our dog Eddy and the travel bugs for a walk to the top of the Center Of New Zealand Here in Nelson. This view is from our house down over the city of Nelson with the Center Of New Zealand hill in the background. The walk takes up up to the top, and then down the back of the hill through some forrest where there are Possums that Eddy likes to try and chase. He chases them up the trees and barks at them! I forgot my camera, so you will justhave to imagine him barking up a tree at a possum!

Here we are at Piwakawaka Bay. I came here to find the cache located here. It is about an hours walk in from Elaine Bay and back through some nice beach forrest and punga trees. The beach forrest has a black fungus growing on it from a little mite that burrows into the tree and exudes a honey like substance from a tube that comes out of the tree. Visitors often think these trees have been burned. The pictures here show the Beach Trees and a close up of the tubes with the drops of honeydew on them. The native birds eat the honey dew, but with the introduction of wasps to the country, the wasps eat it all now and the birds are going hungry. It is a bit of an ecological nightmare as the wasps are getting worse.
