About This Item

AMTG Original Stash 2006 GC 1

same as v.1 but had the trademark symbol

Large coin with lots of heft.  Unusual shape.  The front of the coin has four sections each done with excellent 3-D and with commercial enamel color.  The sections are: Satellite , can of beans,  bucket with "Stash #1" in script and a GPS.  The reverse is a replica of the plaque that is located at the site of the first cache.  It has nice brushed background metal texture.  The crisp raised script says "Original Stash First Geocache Place Her May 3, 200 N45 17.460 W122 24.800".  There is a commercial logo but it does not detract from the design.  Excellent coin.  -------  info on coin :  The front is an exact replica of the Tribute plaque, with the addition of a space for the tracking code. The back is dedicated to Stash #1. The bucket and can of beans (which will be 2d colored objects) represent that Original Stash placed by Dave Ulmer. The satellite and GPSr (which will be in deep relief 3D) represent the removal of selective availability, which made this whole thing possible. Each coin will also come with a commemorative Tribute Plaque pin.

Info about the 7th anniv coin:  There is a reproduction of this coin.  "7th Anniversary of the first Original Stash" Tribute Plaque is on May 3, 2007. This geocoin commemorates when the first geocache was placed.  The 7th Anniversary edition set includes an Antique Copper 2" square coin and a matching 1" copper pin. This incredible coin is trackable with it's own 7th Anniversary icon. There are only 750 coins available in this edition and the Antique Copper version will not be made again.

----------------------------So many of my trackable have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks.

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
