The Ladybug Travel Bug's mission is to avoid overwintering during the frigid Alaskan Interior winters by traveling "Outside" to the lower-48 states and to return to Alaska in the summer to dine on the plentiful aphids found on the arctic roses and birch trees.

The Ladybugs Study the Map at Journey's Beginning

Mini-I Ladybug's Ladybug Travel Bug escaped Fairbanks, Alaska, in October 2004, just as the last leaves were falling from the trees and the first snow fell. Please help her stay warm over the winter in the "lower 48" (a stop through Tucson or Phoenix, AZ, and Minneapolis, MN, would be especially nice) and help her migrate back to Interior Alaska for the short beautiful summer.

Mini-I Ladybug's Ladybug Travel Bug has a sister, Mini-V Ladybug's Ladybug Travel Bug. Like a lot of sisters, they will drift apart hopefully to come back together for a reunion at the family home in Interior Alaska each summer.

Mini-I herself is three years old and will be learning geography as her Ladybug Travel Bug makes its way across the country and back.

Wow!!! What a small world! "Little Boy Creek" was the target cache for Daddy Ladybug's Ladybug Travel Bug before it disappeared with the cache after just one hop in Alaska. Mini-I's grandparents lived one block up the street until about a month ago. Thanks for keeping Mini-I moving across the country!

We picked this TB up in Tucson while we were there for Christmas. We brought it back to Reno, NV with us and been showing it around this area. Soon, we will send it to Northern Calif. to spend some time before returning to Alaska. Thanks, find Waldo 😁

Mini-I Ladybug's Ladybug has been on a whirlwind trip through the southwest with me. We visited natural sites, museums, artwork, and of course, caches, on our travels through Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona. She wanted to vacation in Tucson before heading back to Alaska, so I visited several caches before finding just the right spot. It's in a beautiful desert area within the city, so Mini-I is now resting comfortably within a landscape of paloverde, mesquite, cresote bush, and prickly pear. Hope she enjoys the warmth and beauty of the desert!
