About This Item

AMTG Delaware Colonial 100 Event GC 1

Large coin with heft. The front has excellent 3-D work and background metal texture. It shows a revolutionary soldier with a GPS and an ammo can. This figure is under raised work that says "Delaware" and over a blue enamel flag with a yellow diamond. The edge says "Cache around the colonial Hundreds event". The detail on the soldier is so good that you can see his buttons and the trigger on his rifle. The reverse continues the background metal texture. It shows the outline of Delaware with each county in various enamel. There is a rooster to the right of the state and there is nice simple 3-D work on it. The rim says "Delaware GeoEvent 2007. Excellent coin and event coin. ------------- Info about coin: This coin is to commemorate the cache aroud the Colonial Hundreds event , it is the Gold edition and one of the nicest coins recently minted.

Delaware Geocaching club hosted the Delaware C.A.C.H.E., the Cache Around the Colonial Hundreds Event. The challenge went out to all eligible geocachers to visit a special cache in each of Delaware's Twenty-four Colonial Hundreds and attend the final event to celebrate their accomplishment. To commemorate the event, they created a very special geocoin.

Large 1.75 mm. coin has a beautiful antique gold finish. On one side, a raised three dimensional image of the Delaware Minuteman equipped with his Brown Bess rifle, ammo can, and trusty GPSr in front of the Delaware flag ready to head off on another Delaware geocaching adventure. The inverse side includes a colorized map of the state highlighting the Delaware Hundreds divisions, along with the Blue Hen, Delaware's state bird. The geocoin is trackable on geocaching.com and has its own custom icon.

This is Delaware's second official geocoin. Those of you who are familiar with the first coin know that it is one of the top-rated coins ever produced, and is highly sought-after by geocoin collectors.
-------------------So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new ones as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. IR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
