Current Goal

My first geocoin's mission is to travel, near and far and from one cache to the next. As it travels, perhaps it will remind others of another cross...and it's importance. In truth, that's what it did for me.

About This Item

The Ruby Red Cross is better "in person"

When I first saw this coin (via a forum post), it sort of "called to me." Actually, it SCREAMED my name! It was totally different...by design. Yes, I know it's a caching symbol but, to me, it has sort of a double meaning.

The folks who minted it referred me to the young man who actually designed the coin. There had been a pretty substantial error made in it's first production...so he had two different numbered versions (with matching numbers, no less). The gold with enamel trim — his original design...AND the one that I feel compelled to keep and THIS one (whose nick name is the "Ruby Red").

I hope that you get as much pleasure out of looking at this most unusual coin as I do! Please keep it movin' along...

Admittedly one of the coolest caching coins I've ever seen. The Celt in me met the cacher in me today - very nice.

I too have a coin just like this. I was contemplating which version I want to send out in the wild. The verdict is still out for me. The best thing about that is I have nothing but time. Will be sure to move this traveler along soon. Thanks.
