The traveler wants to visit all the National Parks in the US. He leaves just footprints and takes just memories - so don't forget to post some pics of the parks he visits. Try to include something in the park that identifies where he is at. I've put in a list of National Parks to help out. (placed by Trailboot on 6/25/05)

Retrieved it from travel town a week ago. Wanted to take deeper into Griffith park (Holly ground per the mission) along the many Caches there, but family wanted to got to Santa Monica instead. My son recommended taking the bug for a tan. Had to agree, seems wrong to go all the way to the west coast and not hit the surf (see picture of bug tanning in the beach) and left it in the "Lord of the rings" (GCMTA6) Cache where the agents promised to look after it. PS the zip lock bag was worn so I took the liberty of replacing it... mission sheet was still with bug. SURFS UP!!!

  • Who Says a bug can't tan? Santa Monica Beach... Sorry for the detour, but there are laws here about TB's and tanning that must be observed...

We wanted to trop this TB in Zuma Canyon, but near our trail there was no geocaches. So we brought it to Travel Town in the North of Griffith Park.

Found it in a small park in Los Angeles called the Elysian Park. Here is also the Dodger Stadium. The found was near an Ukrainian Orthodox Church with a beatiful view over LA and part of the park.

We just ordered our America is Beautiful pass, the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass. So we will find a park for this TB.

Actually found this Around the bend on BBT cache which is a diffent cache by the same owner as the one is was supposed to be in. They are only .2 miles apart so the mileage won't be too far off. Both are in a State Park where caches are allowed, but this is part of the larger Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation area.

Well, I looked for the TB in Peak-A-View Too and didn't find it. But I hadn't seen the photo of the TB, and now I'm thinking I could have missed it. There was a bunch of stuff in the cache and I was looking for something a little larger. Ah well, I'm not going neat a NP any time soon.
