About This Item

Flower of Scotland front

The mission for this coin has changed and will now only travel to events with Haggis Hunter, were it can be discovered.

On the 24th June 1314 King Robert the Bruce came up against the English army of King Edward II at Bannockburn.
Although greatly out numbered, Robert the Bruce's army fought the English and won, one of the greatest battles in Scotland's history.

The song below was written by the Corries, probably as a humorous joke, as that was their style? But the Scots loved it so much that it is now our unofficial National Anthem.

O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

The Hills are bare now,
And Autumn leaves
lie thick and still,
O'er land that is lost now,
Which those so dearly held,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

Those days are past now,
And in the past
they must remain,
But we can still rise now,
And be the nation again,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

0 Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

NOTE: If you have held onto this Geocoin for more than 14 days, can you send me an email, letting me know what your intentions are?
I only like a TB (Geocoin) to be held onto for longer than this, if it is going to be helped further along with it's journey.
