UPDATED MISSION - 11th July 2013
Since it's release back in 2006, my son's travel bug has done an incredible ammount of travelling. But alas, it's time to come home. I would like to give Matthew his bug back in time for his 14th Birthday at the end of September.
The New Mission: Get yourself back to the UK and into a cache in or as near as possible to Surrey.
Many thanks to all who have helped our bug move around for so long. It's been touch and go (it did go missing for a while there) but it's had an incredible journey.
Good luck
My mission… well I have two actually! Mission A: To visit to as many military bases as possible, all over the world… PHOTOS PLEASE! Mission B: To have more aircraft spares ‘bolted on’ as I go. I understand that there aren’t gonna be too many aircraft engineers in the geo-world, but if you know anyone who works on planes, choppers, space shuttles then get them to add something. IT DOESN@T HAVE TO BE FROM A CHINOOK, BUT MUST ME AERONAUTICAL! And we don’t mind the odd ‘hole’ appearing either! If all else fails, get me traveling as far as you can!
About a year ago, our good friends The Cache Hoppers gave us a travel bug for my son Matthew to release at the same time as the ‘Hopper Kids’ bugs. I set out to making a traveling companion out of spare helicopter parts (nothing that was in use though, I didn’t just take random bits off an airframe in the hanger). Having polished a blade tip weight to within an inch of it’s life, terminated some cables and stuck it all together with some bolts and a p-clip, we moved to Northern Ireland and I forgot all about it… Until now! I’m releasing it over on the mainland so it may travel the world!
