This is a 3 coin race. In Y2K, Gisborne New Zealand was the first city in the world to see the new millenium. Everyday it is the first city in the world to see the new day. I also happen to have familly living in that city and it would be fitting that I get to see these 3 coins again. So here is the mission: the 3 GC10000 coins will race to Gisborne NZ. Arghh Racer Green, Arghh Racer Yellow and Arghh Racer Pink will battle for the same goal. (The color is from the tag attached). I want all 3 coins to reach that city even if they don't get there first. Once a coin has arrived, I will give the bearer further instructions.
I purchased those 3 coins from their creator Ralph Schuessele (res2100) at COG Spring Fling 3 in Ontario Canada. I didn't know Ralph at the time but I have since formed a friendship with him. One look and I just had to have them. I liked them so much that I hold on to them for 6 months. I've decided that it is now time to let them go but hopefully I will get to see them again...
The GC10000 Geocoin series consists of 3 different unique high quality (die struck brass-bronze core) geocoin versions available in a variety of finishes. These coins were created to commemorate the cache GC10000 - A New Beginning which marked a significant milestone in the history of geocaching.com that took place on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 3:18am EST. This marked the end of the 6-digit geocaching.com waypoint ID and at the same time the start of the new 7-digit waypoint ID. His cache GC10000 - A New Beginning has the honour of having the first 7-digit waypoint ID of GC10000. See the GC10000 cache page for more information about this historic moment and also the April 2007 edition of the Ontario Geocaching Association newsletter.
