About This Item

100_1323.JPG

Special thanks to ed.skinner who did a little research on this item. I had no idea of it's origin other than the fact that my parents had given it to me after a trip they took to England. I hadn't used it since, so rather than have it collect dust in a box I decided to turn it into a travel bug. The text of his email...

"Interesting bottle opener. Wondering if you knew that the design of the casting was taken from "horse brass?" I ran across this on EBay, some antique traders listed a few "horse brass" tabs. Horse brass is used to adorn the harnesses and tack of working horses in Europe. Horse brass has a smaller opening where the opener's mouth accepts a bottle top. Try searching EBay for "horsebrass" and see the results."

When we replaced the cache container this TB wouldn't fit back in as the new contaitner was too small. So we took it with us and hoped to drop it off in another cache before we left Maui. We didn't find any larger caches so we brought it back to Colorado with us. We'll drop it in another cache soon.
