To glide around the globe and make it back to my tree in Peru.
Sent out in honor of a recent discovery by a friend of mine. He found that the ant species Cephalotes atratus that lives in the rainforest canopy, can glide back to it's tree when it falls. This is a remarkable adaptation considering they don't have wings. Find out more about them at www.canopyants.com or read the article in the 10 Feb 05 issue of Nature.
