Made a special trip up the Outer Banks with a buddy, my dog Nugget "Nuggs" and a few travel bugs/geocoins. We started near Morehead City, NC and placed the geocoin at our last caching spot in Rodanthe, NC. Along the way we visited the beach, a couple lighthouses and of course spent the day geocaching. To honor the tradition of the geocoin we stopped by a cemetery in Ocaracoke, NC where four crew members of the HMT Bedfordshire are buried. Their ship was torpedoed by German U boats in 1942 near here. We didn't have much time to hunt for shipwrecks today but there are many around where we placed the geocoin. Perhaps the person picking it up will visit some wrecks. Here is a link to try to find some in the area if it helps http://www.outerbankschamber.com/relocation/history/shipwrecks.cfm
