Finally found the perfect cache to drop off the Baby Bug TB. The St. Elisabeth's memorial is in a beautiful spot in the woods of Eisenach, Germany. St. Elisabeth was noted for work with the sick and poor, even though she was married to a Count. They lived at Wartburg Castle, just up the hill from this spot. There is a legend that, although her husband did not approve, Elisabeth was bringing a basket of bread down to the poor one day and her husband demanded to know what she was doing. She said she was picking roses. When he checked her basket, the bread had turned to roses. Her husband now believed that God favored her and her work.
We're enjoying geocaching in Germany, especially the fact that we don't have to fight mosquitoes like we do in Maine! ~Busy Vees
