The owner of this travel bug never responded to emails asking what should be done to return this bug to its original condition so it could continue traveling in the geoworld. Today, my wife and I went shopping and while we were out we looked around for some little item that looked like a "Ginger Mint Boy". We ended up buying a little green guy and attaching it to the travel bug tag. See the picture I'm uploading with this log.

I'll get the GMB travel bug placed in a cache again soon with its new travel token. I hope this meets with the owner's approval.

    Blue skies and happy caching!

    • The new Ginger Mint Boy travel token. I hope this little green guy is okay to replace the missing travel token (whatever it was) and meets with the owner's approval.

The Ginger Mint Boy travel bug tag had another high-speed adventure today. We rode to work on my Suzuki GSX-R1000 sportbike. It's a crotch rocket with almost 180 horsepower, but it weighs less than 400 pounds, so it flies. We took the long way to work on some empty country roads where I could open it up. I glanced down at one point and saw the speedo reading 152 mph. We only ran high-speed for a short while, then enjoyed some nice curvy roads before pulling in at the plant where I work. Of course, the Ginger Mint Boy TB got to ride home for lunch too (the short route this time) where I traded out the bike for my Explorer. The weatherman said it was going to rain this afternoon. Liar! I could have ridden after lunch too. Anyway, the bug got another adventure. I'll hold off placing it into another cache until I can get something else attached to the tag and chain. Let me know what it should be!

    Blue skies and happy caching!

This travel bug and I did something crazy today... I took the Ginger Mint Boy travel bug (well, the tag, anyway) with me for one of my favorite pastimes - jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. The TB tag and I headed down to the Gold Coast Skydivers drop zone in Lumberton, Mississippi and made two skydives together from 14,500 feet out of the drop zone's Super Twin Otter jump plane.
I took lots of travel bugs along on the jumps and kept them safe (relatively) in a zippered hip pack that I snap around my waist and also fasten to my rig. We jumped from 14,500 feet AGL and experienced terminal velocity (120 - 180 mph), over a minute of freefall, then a five-minute parachute ride and a soft landing back at the DZ. I was jumping with Luke, a co-worker who just recently got back from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. We only got two jumps today before thunderstorms blew in and shut the skydiving down for the day.

All together, the TB tag traveled another eleven miles - vertically! Sorry, but I don't know how to log that mileage on the geocaching site. It was a great day and the Ginger Mint Boy travel bug tag was along for the ride! Check out the pictures I'm going to upload with this log.

Now this TB has tasted the joy and thrill of flight and knows why the birds sing. I'll get it into another geocache soon.

    Blue skies and happy caching!

    • All the TBs and GCs on my skydive rig. Here's all the travel bugs and geocoins that went jumping with me today, laid out on my skydive rig before the first jump.
    • Another shot of the TBs and GCs on my rig.
    • The Ginger Mint Boy tag safely back on the ground.
    • Ginger Mint Boy tag at the DZ's Twin Otter plane.
    • All the bugs back on my rig after the first jump. Now it's time to pack this mess back up and go make another skydive!

Discovered it - sadly broken. But my brother is going to see about fixing it.

I retrieved this travel bug today from the Industrial TB Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, but there was nothing on the chain except the TB tag. Whatever token was attached to it is gone now. I've contacted the owner to see what they want to do.

    Blue skies and happy caching!
