Current Goal

I would love to visit all my relatives in zoos that care for chimpanzees and bonobos. Most importantly, I would like to have photos taken with them to document my travels and send home to mama! Will you please help me!

Whooot! My name is JG.

I’m named after the queen of the chimpanzees, Jane Goodall. I was rescued from a poacher who tried to use my gizzard for making medicine. Silly man! Now I am a traveling ambassador for the preservation of my species.

Chimpanzees are an endangered species. Once inhabiting 25 African countries, chimps are either nearly or completely extinct in 13 of those countries! However, over 1,600 chimpanzees currently reside in American laboratories, which does not take into consideration the number of chimpanzees living in zoos and sanctuaries, working as entertainers, or being kept as pets by the general public. Yeah, can you believe it..as pets?!

By the way, did you know that genetically, chimpanzees are 98.5% identical to humans?!

Well, my goal is to visit as many zoos in this country (and the world) that care for chimpanzees and bonobos! Along the way I may even want to visit a chimp sanctuary or two! And wouldn’t it be great to make it back to the home country – Africa!

JG visited the parking lot of Lion Country Safari (one of its goals). But, didn't get in to do the "safari". The place at the time was so waterlogged, and a tropical storm was off the coast, so we decided to hightail it home instead of camping out there like we planned.
