My Mission is to travel from cache to cache reminding people to be careful of what kind of items they put in caches. GC.com lists items that should not be in caches: explosives, fireworks, ammo, knives (incl. pocket knives and multi-tools), drugs, food, alcohol or other illicit materials. To this list I would also like to add fishing lures with sharp hooks and anything that will produce odors (stinky candles, minty floss, air fresheners, etc.).
I used to be a regular fishing lure that caught many fish. As I grew older I decided to remove my hooks and be an activist for safe geocaching. My owner, when reaching into a geocache, was stabbed by a fishing lure that was still in the package. He has also removed several knives, pins, hooks and other items from caches.
