About This Item

Where's the fire?

This bug is a racer in the 2004 Cannonball Run Travel Bug Race!

This bug is racing from Déjà Vu All Over Again in California, to Winner's Circle in New York. The basic rules are these:

  • The travel bug can only move into a cache in the same state, or in a state that has a common border with the one it is currently in.
  • It's OK to hand the bug off to another geocacher, but the bug must log into at least one cache in each state it visits.
  • If the bug skips a state or leaves the country, it must go back to the last consecutive state it was in.
  • First bug to the endcache wins!
  • Your task is to move this bug as far as possible, within the rules. If you can't take the bug where it needs to go, even just moving it across town is enough. Don't hold onto the bug! Speed is the key!

How to log a travel bug:

    1. Click on the FOUND IT? LOG IT link in the upper right corner of this page.
    2. Select "Retrieved from <cache>" from the drop down menu. Enter the tracking number (six digit # on the metal tag) in the appropriate box, but do not put the tracking number in the comments, or anywhere else.
    3. Add your comments, and submit the log.
    4. Put the bug in another cache.
    5. When you log the cache, a list of all the travel bugs you are holding will appear at the bottom of the "Log it" page. Select this bug from the list before submitting.
  • If you have any problems, please email me!

I saw this travel bug at the awesome UTAG Spring event today in the Sugarhouse Park. It was on a table with a gazillion other travel bugs, all looking for someone to help them meet their goals. However, I had to leave it there for someone else to enjoy.
