Haven't been caching in ages, unfortunately, but did go down to Kennesaw, GA to the Southern Museum of Locomotive and Civil War history with family. We saw a video on the whole Great Locomotive Chase. On the way home, we stopped in Tunnel Hill to see where they came through the mountain and the guy in the museum told us about the monument, which is less than 10 miles from home, so we stopped and found it. While standing there, my wife's cousin found the cache! Suh-weet! So, we signed the log and put it back.

Gotta do more caching! I forgot how fun it was!

Thanks man! :)

Got the FTF on this one. Guess I better have since I only live like a tenth of a mile away from it. Almost directly NE kitty-corner to it.
I pass this location at least once a day and sometimes more than once.

Spent the evening on the addicting FaceBook and was just getting ready for bed and checked e-mail one last time when I saw 4 new caches published. Just zipped through them and deleted 'em all, then the name of this one caught my attention.

"No way," I thought. "Couldn't be that close could it?"

So I looked at the cache listing and sure enough there it was.

Threw on my crocs and rain-coat, ran up there grabbed it and back home to log it!

First find in a while - been busy with life other than geocaching. Good to find one again! :)

Thanks for the fun and for a nearby cache to watch for potential cachers coming for a find! :)

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/2/2008 ThePesters4 retrieved it from Blue Heron Lookout Tennessee   Visit Log

This is the second of two caches we found today.
We LOVED this cache. It was the first time on a ferry for our girls, so that was an experience in itself.
Once we were on the island though, with just the 4 of us walking the trail, we felt almost like explorers. The foliage is so awesome here and except for the noise of the cars passing overhead, seeing water all around and cliffs and not much else was quite a fun experience!

Thanks for the extra push to get out on the island.

Joelle and I wandered off the path to find the cache. We kept looking at the time to make sure we didn't miss the ferry when it came back by.

Signed log and headed back to the dock as fast as we could!

What fun!

Thanks again!

Doreen actually found this one pretty quick. The girls and I were looking in the wrong place first off!

Too cool!

Traded out some SWAG signed log and went more exploring!

Thanks again!
