Current Goal

The Coast Guard Reserve is a part-time force of nearly 8,000, specially trained people who serve with the Coast Guard one weekend a month and two weeks every year. C.G Reservists work directly alongside active duty C.G. personnel and perform the same job as active duty personnel. Reservists perform duties vital to our nation's security. They work alongside the 40,000 active duty C.G. ensuring the safety of local communities. Reserve support is critical to meeting C.G. missions. Homeland Security, including maritime law enforcement, environmental protection, search and rescue, aids to navigation and port security are among the many missions the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve do best.
