Orang Malu, ofwel verlegen man, is een uit Indonesië afkomstig beeld. Een boddhisatva (boeddha in wording) gezeten in een yoga houding. Deze houding neemt hij aan omdat hij zich schaamt voor al het leed en kwaad wat in de wereld is. Kijk je naar zijn rug is dit de afbeelding van een mensenhart, wat staat voor energie en levenskracht. Kijk je naar de voorzijde dan zie je zijn gezicht, symbool voor wedergeboorte en goedheid. De zijkanten laten een houding zien in de vorm van een foetus, wat symbool staat voor onschuld, reinheid en nieuw levensaanvang. Hij is in de vorm van een cirkel, symbool voor eeuwigdurende kringloop. Als je je hand op de Orang Malu legt zorgt hij ervoor dat je voor kwaad behoed wordt.

Orang Malu, or shy man, is a figure from Indonesia. A boddhisatva (a becoming buddha) sitting in a yoga position. If you look to his front you see his face, symbol for rebirth and kindness. The sides show a position in the shape of a foetus, that stands for innocence, purity and new life He is in a shape of a circle, symbol for everlasting cycle. If you place your hand on the Orang Malu he protects you for evil.
