Ethan loves to travel all over the world. He loves Mackinac Island, Chicago, and Beaches. Thanks for taking care of Ethan's card and moving him around. Ethan and his brothers and sisters look forward to seeing who is where each week, and would love to see pictures of his photo card with you, landscapes, or anything else that makes where you are special.

Ethan has been traveling (over 3500 miles) around the United States for nearly 3 years and no one has posted a picture of any of the neat places he's visited, so we decided to take him along on our caching trip today. We showed him a very special spot in northern Wisconsin - the Cathedral Woods trail, where we walked past some of the oldest standing majestic virgin red and white pines in the area. Nearly all the trees were cut down during the logging days in the early 20th century, so we're lucky one wonderful woman encouraged her husband to save this small stand. This spot is extra special, because not only does it contain some of the few remaining old growth trees, but the great blue herons have used it as a nesting rookery for many years. We saw and heard (VERY loud bird!) several adults squabbling over territory and the huge nests hundreds of feet up in the air at the tops of the pines. It will get even noisier when the chicks hatch in another few weeks! What a great spot to visit right after checking out a nearby cache (GC1X4AZ)! We hope Ethan enjoyed it as much as we did and he'll enjoy the pics we've posted.
