I finally got rid of this one, not between Salina and Topeka as I had hoped, but in the Gyp Hills of Barber County.
While not in another state, it is in another county. Medicine Lodge is the county seat of Barber County. Medicine Lodge is the home town of Carrie Nation, a leader in the movement to prohibit alcohol in the early 1900s.
This are is located within the red hills region. The rocks in this area are 300 million years old and are made of sandstone and shale. The red color of the rock is a form of rust.
Thanks for the travel bug, Katie!
