I'm not sure how this coin got to the "province" of California, but I picked it up from a cache where, by coincidence, I was dropping another Canadian geocoin (non-secret number TB4WKR3). It was, at least, located in a suitably military location, just outside a Lockheed-Martin R&D facility, and not far from US Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, whose jet fighters and Ospreys and other aircraft fly over the cache location daily.
The younger half of Team LeoGeo, by the way, is related (on his non-caching mom's side) to somebody who was very important to the RCAF in World War 2, Elsie MacGill (1905-1980), his great-great-aunt, who designed aircraft as well as manufacturing processes (notably for the Hawker Hurricane fighter, from which she got her nickname "Queen of the Hurricanes") and was Canada's first female aeronautical engineer. So this coin feels like family to us!
