Curious George wants to do his normal thing and explore anything and everything that comes his way! Anything new always attracts his attention so he is willing to travel anywhere adventure calls. I just hope that he is able to stay out of serious trouble! It would be nice to get some reports back of his adventures. Since George never learned to read and write English, perhaps some of you who run into him along the way can fill in the details. They say, “Curiosity kills the cat.” I just hope it doesn’t kill George!
Curious George was given to me by an 84 year old woman (Mrs. Virginia Walls) who had no close relatives and was facing going into a nursing home because of her declining health. Although Mrs. Walls was very weak physically, her mind was still very sharp and alert. She had a good sense of humor and was interested in learning new things. When I was sharing with her about my new hobby of geocaching and showing her some of the “treasures” I had “taken,” she said, “That little monkey over there would be a good thing to put in one of those boxes. It would be interesting to find out where all he goes.” In the first leg of his journeys, Curious George brought much joy to Mrs. walls as reports of his adventures came back and I shared them with her. Unfortunately, Mrs. Walls passed away before George made it home again. Now I am sending him back out in honor of her request that he be able to travel all over the United States and even around the world.
