Current Goal

The goal of this coin is to travel far and see as many interesting places as possible. It specifically enjoys places near lakes and rivers, or in the mountains. Although there are no caches in national parks, this coin would really enjoy visiting some of these parks and perhaps having its picture taken to keep as a memory of its exciting travels.

What with the park closing soon until the economy improves, I didn't want to leave this coin on top of an Arizona mountain.

I took this geocoin to the highest point in Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona - a very prominent and spectacular landmark between Phoenix and Tucson. The peak rises about 1,400 feet above the trailhead, but climbing to the top requires 1,650 feet of elevation gain, because midway through the hike you have to climb down 250 feet. And watch your step - the terrain here is precipitous, to say the least. A challenging but very rewarding hike.
