Well, what can I say about this little beauty!!!! I was working on the island for the week and due to sail away later that afternoon and that day was the only day to visit a few caches.

I had been to the island on numerous ocassions but never realy visited Peel. It really is a town that needs a proper visit. Go down nto the town itself. I was quite surprised how nice it was and how big it was.

When I got down into Peel itself, I struggled slightly to find which way to set off walking. Eventually I passed the kipper smoke house, over the bridge and parked up there. I found the necessary path and up I went. On this side it was a very pleasant day and the walk up was very enjoyable. The problem I had was that I couldn't print off the cache details. I just had to remember what I had read. I musn't have been paid attention!!!!! An earlier log aid that the terrain was the hardest ever. I have expreienced far harder ones (ie. Eureka cache in westport, Ireland) but this was one hell of a walk. This is not a complaint though. It was a great cache but be prepared for a trek. Over the other side of the hill, the wind realy picked up 'big style'. I kept thinking, "Surely, it can't be much further?" I did reach the cache before nightfall. I took the Anubis coin and left a tie pin.

When you see people on the Summit of Everest on telly and they are triumphant, they must realise that the trek down is also going to be a nightmare. I felt a bit like that on this one! I had reached the cache but the cable car had already left!! I steadily made my way back up the hill then down the other side where the wind eased up somewhat. It really is a lovely walk down towards Peel. Getting nearer the bottom through the trees, I straightened my jacket and generally made sure that I was presentable because surely the press were going to be there to take my photo after such a trip. I mentally prepared a speech just in case....nothing. All by myself looking out over the kipper house watching the smoke bellowing out through the roof. Still, if I had to do it again I would. This cache is my 50th and a pleasure to do.

Thanks for the cache

I will move the coin on shortly
