About This Item

This travel bug is dedicated to one of the most professional group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with. "The United States Army Noncommissioned Officer" Henry H. Lind NCO Academy The Noncommissioned Officer training was originally conducted within the unit after the Korean War. In 1954, Fort Lewis established a Noncommissioned Officer Academy to consolidate and standardize training for Soldiers of the 2nd and 4th Infantry Division. In 1964, this Academy was designated as the 5th Army Noncommissioned Officer Academy as Fort Lewis began its role as a major training post for the Army during the Vietnam Era. Upon activation of the 9th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, the Academy was re-designed in 1972 as the 9th Infantry Noncommissioned Officer Academy. In 1981, the 9th Infantry Noncommissioned Officer Academy was re-designated as the First Corps Noncommissioned Officer Academy. In 1998, the First Corps Noncommissioned Officer Academy moved from North Forth Lewis to main post in the 3200 block area. In December 2000, the Academy moved to its current location at the former Parkway Elementary School and on 2 May 2001 the academy was named in honor of CSM Henry H.Lind. In May 2005, the academy changed the training to support the Global War on Terror by adding relevant Warrior task. On 1 October 2005, the Primary Leadership Development Course was renamed Warrior Leader Course. The Academy is home to the Active Component Warrior Leader Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course via VTT, and the Reserve Component Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course.

Decided to grab this TB before more snow moves in and this soldier might be stuck there all winter. Got to love the Army. I was with the 6th/31st infantry.

Dropped him off at sunny after finding one of his partners there. So left the two of them up there to fight it out till he gets picked up again. Be ready for a good uphill walk if you want to pick him up. He also did some guard duty at Ellsworth AFB, SD before going off to war.
