About This Item

Right Whale

The right whales (Eubalaena spp.) are baleen whales that were easy to catch (they are relatively slow swimmers) and they floated after being killed, so the whalers called them "right" whales, easy to hunt.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 10/28/2009 The Haywood Hornet grabbed it   Visit Log

I have waited 10 days but it has not been logged into the cache where I picked it up, so I am now grabbing it. I found it in Prewley Moor just outside Okehampton.

Beautiful coin. No whaling in our area but loads of wailing in the car on our journey home I'm sure. Will take the coin on towards Plymouth area and closer again to the sea.

Rather nice coin. One of the best we have seen. We will take it towards Bristol, an old sea port but, I don't think, any history of whaling.

Left Geocoin much closer to the sea. TFTGC
