This guy wants to make the trek from South-East to North-West the old fashioned way: thumbing rides. I'd eventually like to meet back up with this guy in Spokane, WA, but he's in no hurry.
This TBtag was sent to me from Kiawa, a geocacher in PA, while I was deployed to Iraq, just over a year ago. In the note accompanying the walking dude (he wasn't a TB at the time) Kiawa writes: "This is a CacheMan created by a geocacher in my area named RickyB. They are rare and very sought-after, so hold on to it!" Why on earth would I send this guy out, then? Well, it was a part of a package that lifted my spirits when I was downrange. I just want to share that with everyone else. Besides, it's not everyday that someone gets to hold something this rare in their hands and I'd like to accomodate that in my own little way. Thanks again Kiawa. THE WALKIN' DUDE IS READY TO MOVE ON.
Now that he's made it to the Northwest and been there for some time I want to see if he's got the stones to get to Alaska, then to travel to Maine. Once he gets to Maine from Alaska we'll figure out where he wants to go next. After all, he is The Walkin' Dude. Standing still just doesn't suit him.

I just got an email a little while ago saying that the Walkin' Dude has gone missing. I never thought that I'd be upset by this, considering that they all disappear after awhile. I was going to try to pick him up when I returned to Washington from Iraq but as the military had different plans for me I had to leave WA before he made it up there. I'm going to leave this note up for a little while before I reclaim him in spirit, just in case whoever grabbed him just hasn't had time to log him yet, or just logged it wrong. If I don't see anything about it in a couple of weeks, I'll pull him back. Thanks to everyone for getting him moved around so much.

Ran into this 'Dude' while doing Cache Maintenance at the Portland Airport TB Hotel Cache. Since we are 'Walkers' with the Columbia River Volkssport Club (CRVC) and Members of the American Volkssport Association, I thought about holding onto him until our next Meeting or Event but he seemed anxious to get to Alaska!! We (CRVC) just finished running the Columbia Gorge Classic Event with over 600 participants from many States and Provinces and nothing else is schedule for awhile, s-o-o-o-o ---- Travel On!

Sorry we had this one so long. Was really hard to part with the Dude! Kept trying to bump into a friend we turned into a cacher who is moving to Alaska but we didn't get the opporunity. Left it here by the airport. Hopefully it will make it there!

Heading over to airport cache this weekend. Performed some owner maintenance here so thought we could add a couple more miles to your journey. Besides... it is gorgeous out here. The Walkin' Dude enjoyed himself!

Just movin for some miles. Cache not big enough for the bug. We should be able to get this dropped at the airport TB Hotel hopefully sometime in the week. Thought this cache was a suitable name for a walkin' character. The dude is still trudging along as happy as can be in the Pacific NW.
