About This Item

I bought this coin with a few other coins over the internet to help raise money for breast cancer research. When I recieved ithad not been activated and was enscribed with  "kd&prettierhalf 4000 "Thanks for the Caches" Geocoin". I looked them up and saw that their caching name had changed to "kd solo". When I did this I saw the following:

** Biography **
For 20,000 caches we were known as "kd&prettierhalf". Prettierhalf was a nickname that kd had given to Wanda years ago. We were together for over 30 years. After the kids were grown, we discovered geocaching. We greatly enjoyed caching with each other and were together on 99% of our finds. However, after 19965 finds, while getting our shots to go to Egypt for our 20000th find, prettierhalf was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and died a few days later. KD had to get to 20000 by himself (NOT in Egypt) in memory of the most beautiful woman he had ever known. Now all of these geocaching accomplishments seem meaningless.

I contacted kd solo and was given permission to copy the biography from his page to share a little of Wanda's life. Even though I never knew Wanda, I feel honoured to be allowed to have some of her coins in my collection and will keep her name on each and everyone of them.
