This bird wants to migrate south in the winter (21 September to 21 March) and north in the summer (21 March to 21 September).
This is one of ten travel bugs we released with the goal of traveling from San Jose, CA to Punta Gorda, FL by 25 Dec 2003. See how they are doing here.
This duck's original goal was to be in Punta Gorda Isles, Florida on December 25, 2003. It was to rendezvous with Mengarelliott, who released it in the first place. It made it to the right area, but about a week too late.
After it's trek to Florida, Floriduck #1 turned around and migrated back to the west coast, arriving in the Bay area in November 2004. All that migrating stirred its instinctive drives, so now the duck wants to go North between the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes and South between the Autumnal and Vernal Equinoxes.
