This is a very special rooster. He is on an ongoing journey to visit as many caches in as many states as he can, and maybe bring a ray of sunshine on you while he's with you. He'd also like to visit Canada & Mexico someday. He's never been away from home before so he may get homesick and want to come home after a year or so.
This rooster was received as a gift during a Roman Catholic celebration of spirituality known as Cursillo. The palanca is a gift given to one who participates. The palanca carries little prayers of well-being where-ever it goes. The rooster comes into play from a Spanish folk song that was sung at the first Cursillo. The people saw chickens and roosters. Being colorful, the roosters inspired the song, De Colores. So, now the rooster symbolizes the celebration. If you'd like to know more about this, you can check out this website: (visit link) We hope that our little rooster can see much of the country. We'd like it if he could be home with us for Easter 2006. **I really should have printed a bug sheet and put Rooster in a baggie with it, huh?**
