Retrieved from View of the Jewel. Bobby the Duck took two years and ten months to get from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, back home to us in San Diego. He traveled 4625 miles in the process. He also grew a goatee. Thanks to everybody who helped him along on the journey.

Took this little guy to an geocaching event in Susanville so he'd get out a bit and grab some fresh air while waiting to head back to S.D. next week. Even took a ride in a white jeep! 😁 Rock&Crystal

Hearing of the plight of this little guy, we decided to rescue him from the mountain tops and move him along to the coastal shores of S.D. We visit family in mid August (16th-20th) in S.V. and E.C. If the owner wants a "hand off" or wants it dropped near home let us know ahead of time, and we'll do what we can. Meanwhile he can party with the other TBs we grabbed on our 2 week, 235 cache, adventure through the Southwest. R&C

Not knowing if Bobby needed to go back to San Diego, I thought I'd take him from the dry grasslands of Stoneyford/Elk Creek to the sagebrush of the eastern Sierra. Before dropping him off, he did take a bath in the 148 degree water of Grover Hot Springs.

  • 148 degrees....that's hot! Bobby didn't remain long in the water so watches from the bank.
