Current Goal

Little Pep wants to go home but then return to his starting cache of Gaslight Gully Heights. He found his way to my home via a bean mix and now he wants to visit with his maker on Avery Island in Louisiana. Once there he's willing to carry something back. Perhaps a bit of letterhead from the folks at McIlhenny? No foodstuffs please.

About This Item

Little Pep is a minature Tabasco (TM) sauce bottle with a hose clamp to hold the dog tag tightly to his waist.

Little Pep got lucky. I was on stand-down for another day so I got paid to play tourist. Avery Island moved onto the agenda.

Little Pep got a photo op at the entrance sign to the Tabasco complex and we enjoyed the Jungle Garden, especially the Buddha. (My wife and I were the first visitors for the factory tour in 1990 and since LP has already been there, we faded.)

Now that Little Pep is on the way back home, I'll try to find a good place on my travels to release him again.

If I'd known the mission of Little Pep when I picked it up earlier today, I would have left it in a Lafayette cache this evening. Now I don't know if I'll even be able to leave it in a Louisiana cache before I have to head back east.

Avery Island is definitely worth a visit as is another nearby McIlhenny property whose name escapes me right now. That island was almost eaten by a oil-rig disaster.

Interesting to see that Odium, a geocacher who's now based in SC near my office moved this TB while in Illinois.
