Current Goal

To travel on railroads and have it photo taken with historical railroads, railway bridges, signal boxes and train platforms. Anything that relates to train travel would be lovely! If you're really pushed to find a train track... a child's train set would suffice ;-)

About This Item

This coin was designed and produced by Landsharkz to raise awareness of the plight of the Severn Valley Railway in southern England. Sections of this historical railroad were washed away by serious flooding and its going to take a lot of fundraising to get it back to 'full steam' again.

It wasnt intentional, but this coin could not have fallen into better hands. Grabbed off Temingi during the 2nd Rocky Meet and Greet event. I will take it out to work with me next wednesday, and take it for a drive on a train when I go back to work as a train driver. I then have a railways related cache at work that I will put it in.

  • Severn Railway Westwood 1 Severn Railway geocoin at Westwood, approx 40km west of Rockhampton, Central Queensland, Australia. Waiting to depart was the train I was about to drive, 3 x 4100/4000 + 1 x 2200 class locos in distributive power operation, hauling 98 x 106 tonne kwik drop (bottom opening) door coal wagons. In excess of 11000 horsepower hauling approx 10388 tonnes of coal, in a train of approx 1600 metres long.
