About This Item

Road Hazards

Never dive into a gap in stalled traffic
Cars may have stopped for a reason, and you may not be able to see why until it's too late to do anything about it.

Who put a stop sign at the top of this hill?
Don't panic. Use the rear brake to keep from rolling back down. Use Mr. Throttle and Mr. Clutch normally-and smoothly-to pull away.

If it looks slippery, assume it is
A patch of suspicious pavement could be just about anything. Butter Flavor Crisco? Gravel? Mobil 1? Or maybe it's nothing. Better to slow down for nothing than go on your head.

Bang! A blowout! Now what?
No sudden moves. The motorcycle isn't happy, so be prepared to apply a little calming muscle to maintain course. Ease back the throttle, brake gingerly with the good wheel and pull over very smoothly to the shoulder. Big sigh.

Drops on the faceshield?
It's raining. Lightly misted pavement can be slipperier than when it's been rinsed by a downpour, and you never know how much grip there is. Apply maximum-level concentration, caution and smoothness.

This coin is in memory of Todie Phillips of Manitou Beach, MI. He passed away August 12 2008 as a result of a motorcycle accident, he was only 49 years old.

The Silverdale Confederate Cemetery is next door to a Harley Davidson dealer in Chattanooga. Every year the dealership hosts a rally prior to the Trail of Tears ride which follows one of the routes by which the Cherokee were forced out of Tennessee. The ride raises money for markers for the Trail of Tears. Also, the Trail of Tears riders have a tradition of laying a wreath at this cemetery to commemorate the unknown Confederate soldiers buried here. When we dropped the travel bug, the area was swarming with motorcylists. Maybe there is a cacher among them who will look for this cache and take it with him/her to Alabama or parts beyond. Be careful and have fun.

Got this TB from Billy at the club event. My brother recently wrecked his Harley in Jackson, MS. He broke his collar bone and femur but is doing pretty well, all things considered. He has nine lives for sure and is down to about four left. He rides all the time and has for many years so he is generally a safe rider but s**t happens. My other brother was with him and was invaluable help. Anyway, I took this TB with Jevrey and magnoliarunner in mind.

I grabbed this to move it on. Have alot of friends and family that ride. I want one but cant bring myself to do it. People dont respect riders. Saw a motorcycle crash while caching in this area the other day at "The Elite Warrior".

I made a special trip to the area to grab the Todie's Wild Ride coin. I have a couple of coins with this mission also so thought I'd help this one along in the race to spread biker awareness.
Thanks for placing this one close enough for me to grab! Will move soon. Seen you in the forums!
