Current Goal

Chicken Chester is working up the nerve to parachute jump. He wishes to visit any and all parachute jump fields, planes, classes and (Gulp!) any attempts at flying without wings.

About This Item

Chicken Chester is working up the nerve to parachute jump. Unfortuntely, as his name implies, he is a big chicken! For all you 'airplanes without wings' please give him a hand in learning to jump. He loves to take pictures of parachute schools, jump planes and those that may convince him to go airborne. He has heard of a couple of jump schools in the Akron-Canton Ohio area (his birth place), and wishes to visit as many jump locales as he can before he breaks too many bones. He has also recently learned about Base jumping. The thought of that made him pee his pants. Trying to convince him to try that may be very difficult.

I repacked his chute and put him in a place where he can see the planes as they pass over. This is a new cache that is under the flight path of LaGuardia Airport. It's a big box, more than enough room for Chester and his chute to be comfortable in while he gets up his nerve to jump somewhere else.

That is one big travel bug! Will try repacking his chute before sending him on his way.

No wonder Chester is a Chicken! That parachute is a disaster. It was all fouled when I found it! Chester did a test jump and dropped like a rock! We worked all day on unfouling the rigging and reconnecting the cords to the chute. Chester did another test jump and landed perfectly. Perhaps he is a Chicken no more. To test his nerve, I left in the wilds of Queens, NY!

  • Almost made it up, but got hung up instead... Chester made it to the local diving school at Newport state airport, but no one was around to take him up in a plane.
Maybe next time.
