About This Item

Happy BDay 3.JPG

I picked this up on a trip last fall to see the fall colors in the Northeast US. When I purchased it, I intended to make it a travelbug, but was never really able to let it go. Well, today it’s my birthday and rather than release one cache for every year I’ve been alive (and then have to maintain all those caches!) I’ve decided to release a few travelbugs. It seems the perfect time to finally let this one go. Let’s just see how far, and to how many exotic places, it gets to before my next birthday!

  • ECLIPSED!!!! On 8 April 2005 the cruising travel bugs experienced the total phase of a hybrid solar eclipse. A hybrid eclipse is an eclipse where the moon is distant from the earth, so only during a part of the moon's shadow path is the eclipse total, where as at the beginning and end of the path the angular diameter of the moon is not big enough to cover the sun and the eclipse is annular. This eclipse was not visible in its total phase anywhere on land, so we joined a trip organised through Sky & Telescop

I grabbed this TB today and had planned to bring it to the BADGES dinner.... but instead I think I'll add it to the "departure lounge" of my Quicksilver TB hotel so that it's first in line to go to Australia in about a month. Australia sounds much more exotic and distant than Cupertino. :)

I can see why this was hard to give up since the colors and beads are so nice. Happy birthday!
