Current Goal

At A Puzzling Event I will hand the Cache Me If You Can Clue Coin to someone who will hand it to someone else etc., etc. . Traveling with the coin are the coordinates to a nearby cache (Cache Me If You Can). Your job will be simply to track down this coin.

About This Item

When giving the location of the coin do not give the actual location but rather a clue. For example - If I gave the coin to Evil twin , I may say that I gave it to " a wicked copy of myself ".

After the event the last person holding the coin has three options. First, they can hold on to it until someone asks them for it. Second, they can drop it in another cache and leave clues to its location with their log. Third, hang on to it until the next meet where it could travel to many hands again.

This coin should remain within 15 miles of Carlisle.

Happy caching !

Been watching this for a while. Once I read the hint I knew it was in Sir Dinsdale's Secret. I've been meaning to hit that cache for a while so this was a nice excuse. I'll get this back out there soon.

Well it appears as though this coin is becoming an annual 4th of July tradition for me. I picked it up last year on July 3rd. It was in need of a makeover so I gave it some TLC (new coin flip, mission sheet, etc) and sent it back on its way.

I found this coin in my possession once again on July 3rd of this year. This time it was an accident. I didn't recognize it when I grabbed it. It wasn't until I got home to log it that I realized which coin it was.

The coin is in need of repairs again. The coin flip I gave it last year just isn't doing the trick. Several months ago I stopped using coin flips for our geocoins because they just don't have the stamina required to keep a trackable alive in the wild. My new method (which I learned about in the forums) is to attach a wire rope and ferrule. I've had good results with this method so far.

I got approval from Bubba to drill a hole in the coin so this morning I gave the coin another makeover. In addition to the wire rope/ferrule, I laminated the mission sheet and replaced the geocoin assistant with a hitch-hiker companion. I'm attaching a photo.

Now to find a suitable cache to drop it in. 😈
