About This Item

AMTG Micro Red Remeberance Poppies GC 1

Micro coin with heft. Unusual shape. This coin fits film containers and Hide-A Key caches. The front of this coin has lots of bright red translucent enamel. It shows the petal design metal work below. The medallion has nice 3-D work showing the center of a poppy flower. The reverse continues the excellent enamel work. It says "In Flanders fields the poppies blow take time to remember 11.11.07" . Excellent micro coin. -------------------------  Info on coin

During World War I, Red Flanders poppies carpeted the battle fields. The little red flowers sprang up in bomb craters, around trenches and often marked soldiers' graves. Today the red poppy remains a symbol of war and its heroes. Many remember their lost friends and family members by wearing a paper red poppy pinned to their lapel on November 11th, Veterans Day.

There are 2 different versions, the Gold Poppy and Silver LE. Some are bundled together with a Red Poppy pin.

----------------So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve of this practice, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks.  KR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
