Legend says, wild mustangs swam to Chincoteague (“beautiful land across the water”) when the Spanish galleon they were riding on sank off the coast of Maryland and Virginia. They are referred to as “ponies” because of their small size. Today they are rounded up annually and auctioned off on "Pony Penning Day" to keep the herd size down.
This little guy managed to escape from the rest of his herd and is running freely now. His ultimate goal is to run free around the world and then perhaps chance a visit to see his friends and family back in the Islands. Maybe he can stop in to see the mini museum at the Beebe Ranch where Misty and Stormy are forever located. As always pictures are enjoyed so he can show his folks the great adventures he’s had.
A running wild Chincoteague pony whose name is Fluffernutter because he is brown and white like peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. He is named after a Fluffernutter sandwich. You can call him Fluffy or Fluff or Nut or Nutty. I’m sure you won’t have him long enough for him to learn his name anyways.
