About This Item

This little bear was given to "copper" of "copperkat" at the 1979 World Gymnastic Championship Trials in Fort Worth, Texas, by a Russian gymnast while he was working security. This was the final elimination trial before the 1980 Olympics. At the trials it was customary for the gymnasts to trade their pins and patches and collect the pins and patches from other countries. Copper traded a Fort Worth Police Patch for the Russian Bear.

(:D) The Russian Bear accomplished his goal and made it back home to Weatherford, Texas. His last visit was in the Neathelands. His adventures and travels will be turned into a lesson for the grandkids as we track his travels on a map (and he visited some really wonderful places). What a fun adventure since 2005.
